The PaddlePod
The only science podcast hosted from paddleboards!
Co-hosted by George Edwards and Casey Spry.
Stream on Spotify and Substack
I am the co-host and co-producer of The PaddlePod, a science podcast that explores aquatic/marine science through engaging storytelling, interviews and conversation. The issue that my co-host, Casey Spry, and I had to overcome, however, was making our podcast different. And what better way to do that by podcasting on the rivers and seas about which we’re chatting! We decided to try out podcasting and paddleboarding – and somehow we’ve made it work! So, why not give the only science podcast hosted from paddleboards a listen? There are currently 2 seasons of the show available to stream.
Other Podcast Work
Alongside co-producing The PaddlePod, I have also undertaken work on other podcasts, from producing and creating to editing or even just featuring as a guest. Find the episodes here!
Science Chatters (UWE Bristol)
I recently featured on the UWE Science Communication Unit’s Science Chatters podcast, on the Episode “Love and Science and Vertipools”. Here, I discussed my work as host of Love and Science (see my Radio page) and how I got to where I am now.
Beyond Panic (Coming Soon)
During my time on the Science Communication Masters at UWE Bristol, I undertook a thesis exploring the impact an eco-action podcast could have on tackling eco-anxiety in young people. The work is currently in the process of being published in an academic journal, having found podcasts capable of alleviating eco-anxiety.
Keep an ear out for Beyond Panic coming soon – a podcast to help you alleviate your own eco-anxiety, being created off the back of this research.
